Letter to parents about first trimester.

19 11 2009

Dear mom and dad

This letter will tell you about my first trimester as a seventh grader.First of  all in math pretty much it was review. The trick to doing well in math was to turning in homework. If I do that my grade pretty much stays up.You’ll notice that there are some low grades those are the pre tests those were to test how much we know on the lesson so Mrs. brogden can pace the class. We took one today this one is the best yet but i didnt trust the caculator and got 6 wrong. In my defense I have no idea what the sign was, then I thought hey Ibet that means square root. It didnt. Next in scienc we have been learning about the Grand Canyon, rocks, and alittle about fossils. We have a project due tommorrow that demonstrates one of the many things we learned this trimester. I’m doing mine on the 4 types of erosion : running water, wind processes, gravity, and glaicial ice. We are also taking two diferent tests one I took today and I think I did pretty well on. The next happens tomorrow i’m worried about it but I think I’ll do just fine. In choir we had a sub the whole first month who taught us the wrong words  to Celtic Gloria but Mr.Snavely straightened them out. We are woring on Leavenworth songs. My favorite is Christmas Bells one that everyone knows the ding dong ding dong one and la loo la low a pretty lullaby. In P.E. we have done Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, and we just finished Volley Ball. I am not great at any except soccer but I’m not totally bad either I’m kinda average. We have also been in the Fitness center lifting weights and doing cardio I’m kinda back and forth on which Ilike better. In L.A. I’m doing pretty good I need to not wait till last minute to do my tests even when I’ve read the book.  The rest of the work has usally been centered around paragraph structure. First yellows then reds and we didn’t really do greens. Think marks are good because they help me with remebering what I actually did. Mrs.P tells the best stories. My favorite is the one where she was in a phone booth in France and a guy came up and Mrs. P gave him the 1 miute fingure and then turns around and he opens his trench coat and flashes her. LOL.Then lastly there is Mr.Talmadges class. He is really nice but I really dont like having to memorize all those user names and passwords its so confusing. But I like working in the workbooks which we usally do.The first trimester as a seventh grader has been fun but I never want to miss the first week of school ever again!

My Excel Map

11 06 2010

During the past trimester we have been working on a Washington Excel Map. I have learned so much about  WA With every comment I learned more then I ever would have just reading it out of a text book. I think the biggest challenge for me was probally figuring out where to put the comments some were easy like Seattle’s world Fair but some were more difficult like J harlen Bretz. I did two more comments then was needed and I also did the swections and a compass rose and thats my post.

Chapter 3

19 04 2010

In chapter 3 the thing i will remeber most is how many important things the Cedar tree  was used for. What I learned is that it is used for so many things like baskets, canoes(transportation), tools , shelter,  and ceremonial items such as masks and toem poles. This is important to Washiongton state now because it provides jobs for people so they can make money to pay the government.

Chapter 2

19 04 2010

In chapter 1 the thing that I’ll remember the most is learning about the different regions and what plants and animals live in them. What I learnedis that the only region with steppe grasslands is the cascade mountains. This is importan

Crusades Reasearch project.

3 03 2010

During this reasearch project my person of investagation was Pope Urban the II. This man started the crusades and was the reason so many died so many had to  give up so much like their religio0n. My least favorite part about this project was that I always seemed to be behind. Because I took so long to gather info yet I still had to go back and get more. The good part about this reasearch project was that I learned alot more then I learned inside the clasroom. If we did this project again I would try harder to stay caught up.

Muhammad book

19 01 2010

My favorite part of the muhammad book was writing the arabic I thought it was fun learning a new language and now I know four.My least favorite part was 8.3 the early life picture. because my word was marriage so  i drew a picture of marriage which was a little awkward for me. But over all I enjoyed learning about Muhammad.
